Service Description
Financial Agreements allow parties to settle their property settlement formally through an out of court written agreement which must comply with the requirements of the Family Law Act 1975. Financial agreements are best for situations where substantial agreement has been made on the division of property (or it is expected that negotiations will be successful) or agreement has been made. We will review the Financial Agreement as drafted by the other party's lawyer and undertake reasonable negotiations and make reasonable amendments to the Financial Agreement. We will provide you with written legal advice about the advantages and disadvantages of entering into the Financial Agreement as compared to your other property settlement rights and options and ensure you understand how a Financial Agreement works and what protection they provide and the risks that they carry. We will then provide you with a Certificate of Intendent Legal Advice and execute the Financial Agreement with you.
