Our divorce lawyers will not only process your divorce application, but they will also give you legal advice about your divorce law rights and important information you need to know when you are completing your divorce including: 1. What the divorce application fee is. 2. Time limitation periods that start running when your divorce is granted. 2. Who gets what out of the divorce? To start your divorce application, we suggest obtaining a copy of your marriage certificate (or order a copy from Births Deaths and Marriages Victoria now: https://www.bdm.vic.gov.au/marriages-and-relationships/get-a-marriage-certificate ). Our fee covers a consultation with a divorce lawyer who has processed many divorces. Our divorce lawyer will contact you to undertake an initial consultation and obtain important information about your circumstances and relationship and then they will advise you on the preparation of the Application for Divorce. Once the Application for Divorce is ready, we will file it with the appropriate court and keep you appraised on the progress of your divorce. Further fees apply if the Application for Divorce is required to be served on your spouse as is the case in a sole divorce. There is also a Family Court filing fee which is $930 or reduced fee $310.
